Any experience with this? I always thought it would be an interesting thing to try...perhaps gaining me some high quality slabbed coins at a fraction of the typical price for the grade. I assume that this is difficult and time consuming though, and there's always the chance that it won't come back upgraded or will take a few tries (which is expensive).

If you are known far and wide as an expert in your specialty, and you can swear on a Bible that the five coins in front of you are all at least one grade low, one out of the five will come back a grade higher.

One time in ten.

If sending in a coin that you are sure is under graded should you first remove it from the slab? I have CC Morgan that is way under graded and can't believe if I send it in its present slab that it would come back more than one grade better.

From what I've heard, you need to remove it from the slab and send it if you want a fresh look.
