Of all of the new July releases, this must be the ugliest of them all. Reminds me of a monster from a horror film.

I don't think the Royal Life Series will be a hit either.

It almost looks like the RCM is trying to make lots of hype over the Meteorite coin. Received an email telling about the press release and unveiling and also taking orders on this, again. Already over 60% sold out. Could this be the next Falcon Lake coin?

The COA for this coin sure looks different.

I might assume, that this is 3-rd party COA for meteorite piece.

I had some coin, where some black stones (for me they looked like Swarovski) were embedded, so the coin had it's own certificate + additional certificate for "black diamonds"

Meteorite coin picture of the coin was on the RCM site and now it's blank with the words unveiling June 26th. Did they goof and showed this coin prematurely. Typical of RCM. LOL

Had to pull the trigger on the meteorite coin...I'm a sucker for that sort of thing. I regret not acting quicker on the UFO coin earlier this year.

Me too. I bought it immediately.

The coin's design is scientifically accurate, and it celebrates the Canadian Astronomical Society.

It looks great, imo. The meteorite is just part of it. This coin is perfect for Astronomy buffs.

Looney, I have no idea of this stuff, but really curious:

on this coin I see the mix of the astronomic objects and events:
The meteorite comes to the Earth (assuming it Earth), and we see the Solar eclipse, and the other Galaxy.
Is this accurate picture, of what observer could see from the orbit? Or just 'little bit of everything' to attract wider population of collectors?

Rest in Peace

I pulled the trigger as well on this coin. Thought it would go with my 'Enterprise' "coin". :)

@Silveroid

Taken from the mint site:

"your coin is a re-interpretation of The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada's sesquicentennial logo in a scientifically accurate, photorealism art style. The original logo features stars that allude to Canadian contributions to stellar spectroscopy and photometry, and a globular cluster that honours the scientific work of Helen Sawyer Hogg and Canada's cooperative partnerships; both are colourfully re-imagined here as the Eagle Nebula—specifically the pillars of interstellar gas and dust known as the Pillars of Creation, where the formation of new stars is a symbolic representation of the RASC's beginnings (and by extension, its anniversary).

A fixture in RASC public outreach efforts, the Moon was chosen to represent the lunar calendars of the First Nations peoples, and the navigational astronomy that guided many European discoverers during Canada's early history. Beneath it, the Andromeda galaxy—the nearest major galaxy to our own—is a symbolic ode to Canadian contributions to cosmology."

Thank you much for explain and source.

This is the set of the logos, brought into the single composition.

Sadly not seeing anything that screams 'MUST HAVE' and won't be ordering a single item.

Lots of eye candy during this release, none within my budget that I would be proud of owning regardless of the depreciation.

Did anyone notice the Canadian Coasts subscription 3 coin set is in fact significantly more expensive than the Maple Leaf quartet with less silver per piece?

Meteorite coin is now sold out at the RCM.

I picked one up at TSC along with the Star Trek Deep Space Nine coin and got 3% cash back along with free shipping. :)

Looks like, the Meteorite coin has a lot views and attention.

Since it sold out from the Mint - nothing now holds the Dealers and resellers to raise the prices, and people will start to buy from them, raising demand even more.

Interesting to see the raising interest in the scientific themes.
Maybe again kids will dream to be astronauts and space explorers and not businessmen or brokers?

Interesting the meteor coin was available on the RCM website this morning and I was able to load 100 units into the cart.

Most dealers still have them at issue. No limit at CC&C.
