Wow, thank you for update, MoneyPenney and rjlavoie
This one: - Pure Silver 14 coin set - Heraldic Emblems of Canada - $399.95
sounds very promising. Will we have finally affordable set with all the Provincial Coat of Arms emblems?
UPDATE: These coins are cool (imo), small, but unlike provincial quarters 1992, these are painted - disadvantage, hence a low price. But something suspicious with the price. Too low. Hopefully it not CAD 399.95 per coin. They are probably 1/4 oz 27mm each?
Additional point: CAD 89.95 for 1oz silver - isn't low price. But why RCM sells so cheap our National Flag compares other 1oz coins?
Added: The Meteorite coin...done between "not bad" and "average". do not expect for "high relief", but only painted with nice piece of meteorite. And meteorite from - Campo del Cielo - this is not in Canada.
I couldn't find either... not in any of the releases I received last night.
Usually, that's not a good sign - the RCM loves to release videos of "the latest" and "the greatest" items. The absence of a video for this item almost leads me to believe the overall presentation won't impress.
The emblems set is a bit interesting. However, I already own the 2017 puzzle coin, which also features 13 provincial emblems.
I noticed 12 out of 13 provincial emblems in the new set are the same as in the 2017 puzzle coin, except the Quebec one:
In the new set, the Quebec coin contains the shield, the crown, and the motto "Je me souviens," while all other 12 provincial coins in this set contains only shields. I'm wondering why the Quebec coin has to be treated differently this time.
I started to see 2 disadvantages in the nice "Provincial" coin set:
1. Took a look at my 1992 coin set, and 'carved' design with the relief looks so superior compares plain paint.
2. The reverse of each coin should contain Province / Territory name, instead of 'Canada' (the Canada will be on obverse), while the coin with Coat of the Arms - only it should be with "Canada" as it now. [the Mint actually didn't put names at all]
I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. $400, less than $10 face value. 4,000 mintage? I'm rather disappointed. Price or mintage should be cut in half for me to be interested at a Tim Bits and double-double face value.
