Try scanning individual coins, zooming in, and cropping out all the white. That way we will be able to enjoy them more.

The only thing though is, I noticed the "Bicentennial" Quarters..... '76 qtrs. and '76 halves.....I've always pitched those back, because they're just not worth what people anticipated they might be back in the 1970's & 1980's. Unless these are in MS cond. or close to it.......why are you saving these ? But, yeah....as Becky said....focus on "one coin" and get a good detailed pic of that one......instead of "groups" of coins at one time. Like this........ http://s174.photobucket.com/albums/...100_0459.jpgor this........

I'm sorry, I'm new and posted this on another page because someone suggested photos but it was moved to this page. My original question was that my Aunt saved coins, she passed away and left them to me. I have no clue, my dad also just passed away and left stamps so I am just trying to find out what I have. I think I will probably need to find a local appraiser to help. But thank you all for your input!

Sorry about your Dad and your Aunt....
Marcia....You're fine with what you're doing here, but to get a better idea of an "individual coins" value.....just a little bit closer up pic with good detail on the coins. And yeah, an honest coin shop dealer or an appraiser would be good. If the collection isn't TOO large though, you could probably get a very good idea as to the value of this collection right here with pictures and then with expert opinions wading in...... What is the size of this collection ? The pics up above.....is that like 25% of them ?

May I also add my condolences for your Aunt and Father, we're here to help, perhaps if you gather a few that you like the best and post them singularly we could give some more detailed info. So at least you'll be armed, with some background on the coins, when you do approach a dealer for a value! Also there is a stamp forum available right here on the community at the top of the page, they may be of assistance with your dad's collection.

Oh yeah !.......I forgot to mention the "stamp collector" area here on CCF!! Definately seek that out !......Member JustCarl is one with some experience with stamps I believe...and very trustworthy and knowledgeable.....but there are many there to help ya ! Same thing there though.....you just need to get "closer up" to show better details with your pics.....
