1789 marks the end year of coins attributed to Charles III of Spain, the last potent and effective monarch of the Spanish Empire. His actual reign was 10 August 1759 - 14 December 1788. I'll try to post an 8 reales from each year attributed to his reign up to the beginning in 1760 (no coins attributed to him as King of Spain were issued earlier than 1760). This one is a posthumous issue from the Mexico City mint.
