Anyone seen something like this? To me it looks too defined to be die damage, and It's not a bubble which was my first thought. Just trying to learn whats going on here.

That is really interesting - maybe some sort of doubling like what we have with the 2006 LMC's.

Looks like a linear plating bubble to me.

I looked up Linear Planchet Bubble and maybe that's it, not sure but maybe. Here's an angled pic of the ear, maybe it will help.

simple way to tell is to lightly poke (not jab so you don't damage it) it with a tooth pick. You'll be able to tell if it is firm, if not it will probabaly pop immediately.

Now that I'm looking at it again, it does look like a Linear Plating bubble.

Its firm. They aren't "air bubbles" that can be moved or deflated.

Just because it doesn't give doesn't mean it's not bubble plating. Bubble plating could be hard, flimsy, and even open with metal coming out like a volcano.
