It's a modern day Lincoln Cent. I can see zinc rot above TRUST. Looks like a metal detector find. also the date looks like 1988 or 1998

No, it's NOT the famous 1969 S Doubled Die Obverse cent. The 1969 Doubled Die Obverse cent would look like this. No questions would have to be asked if you saw this.

Your coin shows zinc rot so it can't be the 1969-S. They didn't make cents out of zinc back then.
I don't see any doubling either.

Lincoln Cents now have a Copper plated Zinc core. Once the Copper plating gets split/punctured, then the Zinc core gets exposed, causing Zinc Rot to slowly set in over time. So, it's not an error. Just Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). It's worth face value, because it's damaged.

Unfortunately, with the condition that it is in it really wouldn't make much of a difference if it was anything worthwhile. It's just a spender.
