I have 2 1989 d cents and they both look different on the designer's initials. So which one is the one everyone is looking for?

Now put those FG on the reverse of a 1988 and you have what you are looking for. Those are 1989.

Yep, they're both normal. The cent on the left is just more worn than the one on the right. You have normal coins that are worth face value.
