Thank You

Not usually. You might get lucky and actually find a full roll, but you have better odds of winning the lottery.

It's been 50 years since wheat cents were minted. You can't get rolls at a bank but ebay has zillions for sale.

Don't pay over $4 a roll. Some coin shops sell them for $2.

noah123,
You can't buy rolls of wheats at the bank but you can buy boxes of cents ($25 each) and search for wheaties. Each box usually has a few in it.

I average about 1 Wheat cent for every 350 pennies I go through. So unless you just like searching through coins or your time is worth less than 10 cents an hour I would just buy rolls.

I search anywhere from 30 to 50 dollars a week in pennys and Ive found lots of wheats from a 1909 to brand new looking 50s wheat cents. Its a fun and cheap way to get them.

I won't disagree with the fun part but when you consider time spent searching through rolls they are definitely not cheap unless you do not value your time.

I do about 50 rolls a day and have accumulated 6 rolls of wheat pennies in about 3 months of sorting. I found 5 steel wheat pennies just the other day in a customer rolled roll.My time is valuable but this is my "therapy" and it is much cheaper than paying a therapist.
