Hey Bate! That's not an RPM, but a well placed die chip. Notice this side by side, yours goes all the way up the outside of the mintmark while in the example from Variety Vista look like the Mintmark has smashed a cartoon character and you see his foot sticking out! See the difference?

Now, because of the thicker lower vertical it may still be an RPM, just not those of the "Lower hook" variety.

Crazyb0. Thanks for your reply..I don't think this is that one the cartoon..might be the second cartoon tail in VV?. You can tell before the tail on mine it has a Notch..I know it is DD. You might right about the chip but all the mark and Notch on mine make me wonder

It does look like an RPM, but on the bottom middle of the mint mark, it looks like it took a well placed hit.

Bate, think it's this one on varietyvista.com
http://varietyvista.com/02b%20LC%20...1DRPM015.htm

I'm not real crazy about all the line Coppergold draws, not my thing, I have good luck with a simple cross hatch. I see your notch on this one but think yours is smashed to have lost a bit of relief of the inside details. Location, shape matches, now see if you can match any of the other die markers, on both sides to see what stage this might be. It HAS to be a very late die state because of the chip.

If you can match any of the markers, you may consider sending you pix to James Wiles at Variety Vista so he can update this RPM to an even later die state than is shown. PM me if you have any questions about this, going to bed, long day ahead at hospital tomorrow.
