Hello all, long time listener, first time caller. So my old man gave me this coin that he found in a register working at a bar in the 70s-80s. It's a 1968D Lincoln Cent but appears to be of a different metal or plated. It's dull in color, more gray than silver. Just trying to some thoughts before deciding if to get it graded. My apologies for the photo quality, working on mastering that. I'm pretty sure I weighed it and determined the specific gravity but I'll have to do it again to verify that.

Almost certainly plated. I believe at the time it was a common, wholesome school experiment to dunk pennies in mercury to leave a silver shine on them. I am not sure how long it lasts, but it does leave the coin discolored for years, as well as being slightly magnetic.
