Stumbled across some wartime nickels. Picked up 2 1943-S and this 1945-P with some grain to it. I only had one other lamination error. It's a Woody Lincoln Wheat penny and now this one. Let me know what you guys think. The 43-S's are in a tad bit better condition than this one.
I might agree with circulation damage, but it runs into the neck as well. There is a high spot on the collar that doesn't show damage. If it was damage then wouldn't the high spot show it as well?
Not a die crack on the color, it is just a robbed mark by something. It also is not a woody, those lines you see running North and South are roller lines. to Community.
Interesting. I'm learning. I also find in odd that some parts are sharp like the lettering and the fringes on the back of the neck, while the stairs are not near as sharp. Thank you all for the information. I assume the stairs are near the thickest part of the coin?
