Picked this up for $23.50 thinking it made VG. I like how the interior digits "81" are so close together in the date. Thoughts on grade and problems? Thanks!
From these pics looks like ed as well as other issues but again, with these ebay pics no one can offer a confident opinion. For a technical grading opinion your vg assessment seems about right.
I think I was able to attribute this to Newcomb-5 which is a scarce R3 variety. This was the only variety that used this obverse die and had the tight, close interior "81." Can anyone confirm the variety? Thanks!
This one also came in. Really happy with this one. I don't know what the white schmutz is by the mouth but I will repost pics after an acetone dip. Thoughts? Thanks!
