Hello folks,

I am trying to determine the top 10 auction houses for coins. The ones I have come up with so far are (in no particular order)

1) Heritage Auctions
2) Stacks
3) David Lawrence
4) Bowers and Merena
5) U.S. Marshal's Office (believe it or not they sell coins from FBI, DEA, US Marshall and Coast Guard that were confiscated)

What about AAN (American Auction Network) Yes, they are a TV auction house, but they do NOT sell like QVC, HSN or SNBC. Where they spend 10-15 mins on just one item. They "move" through their inventory. They sell: graded, ungraded and collections. Coins and currency. Check them out.

Well these are just the ones I have dealt with in my short time on investing in coins. Who else do you folks have found to be the top houses?

GOD Bless

David

Morphy Legend
Teletrade
Goldberg

That's all I was able to add to the list.

After reading the post again I see you specifically said coins so I guess Lyn Knight would have to come off of hte list. Smythe does sometimes include coins. Now that they are part of Spinks I think they will include coins even more.

Hey Penny Pusher,

You buy from the US Marshall's just like you do on ebay. You register and bid. A lot of dealers buy thru there, so sometimes things get high in cost. You should see the jewels and gems sell to the BIG guys in NYC. But the coins you can pretty decent ones. Drug dealers like high value coins and paintings. Check it out. Good luck.
