I have an 1888 indian head of a golden color. I am wondering if this is the way it came or if someone over polished it?

Definitely cleaned by rubbing.
If you images weren't out of focus I might even be able to tell if it was whizzed or not.

Yes, wrong color for an IHC , photos not sharp but really looks cleaned in some way .

It was cleaned unfortunately. It's now a cull coin pretty much.
