Meow has found a 2002d nickel with some odd damage to the reverse. It does not look like typical strike abrasion damage. The rims look milled into. Any guesses to what did this?

CNC machine maybe? Notice the milling in the damage? there is no metal deformation.

Definitely Post Strike Damage (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). It got smashed by something.

Just remember - there is a fine line between funny and sarcasm - somehow I have figured out how how to merge the 2 - LOL!

I'd have to say that was more of a pun than sarcasm! Just a little play on words.

BTW dear Cat, if you haven't figured it out, many of us have a bit of a snarky, tail-pulling sense of humor around here. Three Stooges/Pie throwing is high humor. if it gets too close to your tail, just flick it out of our reach and return snark for snark.

IRL I have official 4 furry paw cat references that I'm -mostly- harmless - I have one, Ruby, whom I am not allowed to pat during waking hours... she will grumble like somebody is playing kitty bag pipes. But between about 12:30 and 5 am, she secretly snuggles into me and purrs.

Just remember you can't herd Cats!

Well Meow just finished the Nickel box.

4 Die chips

1 buffalo

1 Silver War

1 Over polish

And Meow found 2 2009s, The first ones ever found CRH.
Out of the entire box Meow found only ONE coin that would maybe make MS66. Most where at best MS62. Nickels seem to just beat the heck out each outher.
