I am more than willing to say it now.

These coins are a clever scam.

These "rare holdered" coins have no record of existing. This USNAF does not seem to have ever existed. The only information I can find of this USNAF when somebody post on a forum asking about what it is from a few years ago. Then there is nothing about them.

Now suddenly, after years with nothing about these "rare" USNAF slabs they are appearing from multiple ebay accounts.

But wait: now an entire Facebook page has been created about these slabs:
https://www.facebook.com/USNAFcoins/?ref=br_rs

This is a new type of scam and I must admit a clever one. Create your own "old slabbing service" and put $10-$30 coins inside a holder and sell those same coins for $200+ to people who are looking to get unusual/defunct/rare slabs.

Pretty smart.

This fraud seems to be a brain child of a man called Bryan Watkins who is all over Facebook claiming to have found these.

Amazing that this USNAF made a good amount (he has posted tons of these) of these large slabs yet there is no record of this organization existing let alone slabbing any coins.

I would love @Condor101 to put any input.

If he or anybody can find a record of this USNAF existing and making these huge slabs I will retract my statement but pretty clear this is a new type of fraud going on.

This thread -- http://goccf.com/t/249724 -- claims to have found official documentation of its existence in 1986. I can't add anything to that. Could be a newly rediscovered flash in the pan, could be someone making new/fake slabs based on this obsolete organization that never got off the ground.

Yes the organization MAY have existed but it never made slabs. This is not your local Craigslist scammer, this is somebody who went to a lot of effort.

This is the scam that is scary because it is somebody who has invested time and resources to pull it off.

There are dozens of basement slabs out there. This "scam" is nothing new. It's even true with paper money.

Actually, they probably did make slabs. However, I would say that they were probably not a third party grader. It would seem more that they may had manufactured slabs for particular entities as advertised in this Orange County Register newspaper clipping from May 14, 1987 in the Venture section, page C15:

Maybe China bought them out or merged with them.

Hello I am the "clever" guy behind the new "scheme"! I wish I was so clever as proposed but at least I am not a liar since the one claiming a scam is ongoing also claims he will retract his statements (which he has absolutely no evidence to support) if evidence of this company was found but hasn't after this evidence (which is real) was put before him! Nice try Columbo but no crime, scheme, nor scam is taking place. Yes I have some rare holders and are what they are! Be careful who accuse in the future without anything to support your ridiculous post! Actually what you did sir is a real crime. Hope you sleep well.

Hello USNAFguy - to the CCF!

Can you give us some information on these slabs? It would certainly help. I'm sure the OP would retract his statements if you were able to give us some information about the company, when the slabs were made, etc.

Also thanks for the advertisements! I do appreciate that sir! Check out my listing for yourself please. I posted a link for you to see the items for yourselves. Hope this clears up the matter! And please just search Google and you will easily find an image of this type slab from Michael little coins. This man making claims is as unusual as these slabs. And I had several request to preview some of these slabs so I did set up a facebook page myself! Anyway hope this helps. Thank you

My information on these coins has been sourced online and is readily available just look! Other salesnof the capital plastic style holders are out there! This nonsense is crazy!! The coin slabs are dated. And much information about this company is still very much a mystery to me! I have asked the coin community and haven't learned much to be honest.
Rest in Peace

Conder101 and BStrauss3 are the most knowledgeable people regarding slabs that I know of here on CCF. I'm sure one or both will reply.

and to CCF!

No offense, but we recently had a thread where someone replied to a question with something along the lines of "google it yourself". It did not go well. We are here to educate each other.

At this point, "no evidence to support" his claim is falling on you as well. Please help us understand what these slabs are all about. Our own searches (including mine, when this topic first surfaced) turned up next to nothing.

Yes. If you can provide info about these that would help. I can't find much online about these.
