Hi, 1982pennyid. You have a nice coin. MS 63+ obv: the field & profile with scratches. I can see dark spots in front of Lincoln's face? Reverse looks good with minimal dark spots & scratches? It seems like 1970s penny does not possess the lustre other years have. Enjoy.
Rest in Peace

Pix too blurry and indistinct can't get a feel for the coin, I see very mushy details where it is either a very weak strike(doubtful) or a lot of rubbing, some rim nicks indicate bag circulation which puts it out if not low on the AU/MS scale. I grade tough and conservative when it comes to circulation coins, unless provenance of OBW, MS is in doubt. Even then, OBW's many times don't go higher than mid MS(64-66)

Pix are a bit better but I have to be honest, and not to be critical but it is a circulated coin. It isn't a very good struck one either, worn dies on obverse and VLDS on reverse. I circled all the little "fiddly-bits" that knock the grade down. A large nick like the two on the reverse really knock it far down and the "chatter" of coin contact on the obverse and heavy dings take it all the way out of the MS range. Because it is a 1972, these were struck with actually more pressure than usual(trying to keep old dies in service) it has a heavy rim, and deep detail so it "looks" good in that regard. It does have mint luster, but that doesn't necessarily mean high grade, the CONDITION matters most. So a formal grade, AU55RD.
