Curious about the vast auction prices between the 2014 DDO 001 F'S-101 and the 2014 DDO 003.
Recent sell prices for the 001 in MS have hammered $380-490.00. I have picked up 2 DDO 003's on ebay in AU58 and MS63ish raw for about $10.00.
Understand basic market principles such as scarcity, availabilty, demand all play a factor in this one but when the time comes for competing for purchase I exhibit the "auction stomach" and just get a scoffing attitude. Have not examined the F'S-101 but studied all photos I could and compared them to the raw DDO 003's and not greatly impressed by the 001. Has anyone examined the 001 and does the strength of doubling perhaps merit price difference? With 3 1/2 years since die run it makes me think of the 1992 D, 1988 and 1988 D reverse variety all of which hit a plateau and now can be acquired without to much difficulty. Your opinions are important to me as a new collector I don't have the knowledge or past experience to see or smell trends that can directly affect my collection and wallet.
The 2014 F'S-101 is one variety I'm reigning in on purchasing until I know more about it.
Comments solicited and welcome.

You should be able to pick it up in mid-hi MS around $200.00+ on the Bay.

I sold one of each on ebay in high AU or MS. They went for $5 each. Jason C. bought both.

One of the DDO-001s sold on ebay recently for $55. It was high AU or low MS, a lot of chatter and contact marks.

I knew the DDO 1 was rare but I didn't realize it was rare enough to have a significant premium like that. I found one a while ago, maybe the end of 2016, and it's in pretty good shape all except for a fairly long but shallow scratch on the reverse if I remember it correctly.

Spotted 3 of the DDO 001's on ebay made offers of $70.00 on 2 of them and was turned down. After studying past sales it appears this coin is available for purchase at book price if a little patience is used. $150.00 about the ballpark price of a nice 1914 D F-12 in holder is a little high for me for this variety. Think I will wait this one out a little longer. The 2014 DDO 003's are relatively more common at $10-20 bucks and almost match strength of doubling on the 001.
