customer came in with this small coin. about half the size of a dime. Looks to be silver. Any help with identification would be appreciated. Is this even a coin?
This looks like a copy of a portcullis farthing, (or is it ha'pence) of Elizabeth I. It should be silver and hammered and the image looks like silver plate and perhaps too round and even a planchet to have been hammered. It would be listed in Guidebooks of English Coins which I don't have in hand at the moment.
