This has one bid. Unless I am missing something, it looks like someone is about to buy a 1909 VDB for a 1909 S VDB price... Am I missing something?

Yep. It's not a 1909 S. It's a 1909 P unfortunately. The bidder is not very smart.

I have to agree that it's not an "S"! BatW, did you look at the other items that this seller has for sale? Run Forrest Run!

Here's a junk coin from the same seller. He's trying to sell it as the famous 1969 S DDO, when it's clearly not. It's just a very heavily circulated and beat up coin. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-s-Dou...AOSwNaNbT708

That's pretty bad that the seller doesn't offer returns.

Sorry but I blame the buyer here. I mean really... duh.

I reported a bunch of his other garbage.

Doesn't matter that he doesn't offer returns. Buyer just files a SNAD claim and gets his money and postage back.

Perhaps it's possible that the seller just had the wrong photo up?

Clearly it's the rare "missing S" variety.

This what is known as a do it yourself coin. You buy it and add your own S.

Maybe the S mintmark fell off - use to be where the large blotch is located below the date?
