I think he is saying he bought coins thinking they were straight grade based on the photos only to find when he got the coins they were obviously cleaned. The lighting angle in your first photos hid many of the hairline scratches that a harsh cleaning brings. Your second set of photos had the lighting angle different and the light made those scratches pop out in those photos.
