Wanted to start a new thread for those of you who have come across notes with serial #'s that just don't pan out to be a keeper.

This one was really hard to swallow:

I take it you don't own the missing note? How did you come to acquire these four?

- No, no, these 4 notes are from a sealed brick (last year) from a bank I have done a lot of transactions with. I can tell you "JimmyD" there'll be no CDC 1116111. Many of the new "150" tens had missing runs of numbers. We were informed that BOC were no longer providing inserts & the missing runs account for why there are 6 prefixes for an order of 40,000,000 notes.

Correct "Coinfrog"
I would order 1/2 bricks a week in advance. Very few banks would meet my order & I found they were much more compliant with half-bricks than full ones (10 bundles or $10,000 worth of tens).

I wish this 2 digit was the only radar missing in my search but I also missed many more radars searching these 1/2 bricks (I believe 8 in all).

Not easy to come by (esp in UNC) thus the premium.
