Ok so much of you have figured out I don't know much about modern coins and like to buy coins. I have so hundreds of nice raw coins (posted a few on here) that I am thinking of getting graded. To start off with maybe 20 or so. That being said I attempted to understand PCGS gibberish on submissions but don't know where to start. There are so many options to choose and I don't want something overlooked or not labeled cause I did not check the box. What is the best and fastest way to accomplish this? I love collecting but this process makes it not near as fun. I need an assistant lol. Thanks for your feedback and all the amazing members on this site.
Rest in Peace

Don't know much about sending coins in for grading but depending on what TPG you use 20 or so coins can get very pricey . You would need to send in only the cream of the crop to make it worth while . Show us the coins you want to have graded BEFORE you send them in .

Jbedwell, I don't remember if I gave you this answer box before or not. It does apply to your desire to "send 'em in". As T-Bop pointed out, it ain't cheap! There are indeed ways to do multiple entries at once, but these are really for those who are taking the risk, hoping to get a group of MS/PF70's or at least 69's...that is extremely difficult to do. Those who do that put in 100 possibles, they know will grade above MS/PF67. Flipping a couple 70's or a lot of 69's may make your investment break even. We are talikng THOUSANDS of dollars invested in hopeful grades, sometimes it don't happen, take the loss, next time maybe a winner. But do realize, what is your suspected grade and what is it's CURRENT listed resale value(not a graysheet lising)? If you can't sell that submission for the price of grading, are you making a good choice? Multiply that by 20, you're in the $1,000 submission range, worth it?

Canned answer #5
Just-A-Question-In-General-About-Grading

The main point in all this is, "Is it really worth it? Not by the time spent, but actual market value of your coin. Most folks that send in a lot of submissions set a level of $150 market value as a bare minimum to even consider sending a coin in. From those you have posted previously, many don't make that level. Now if you want to spend Your money that way for Your satisfaction, let no one stop you, it is your coin.

I've used all three major TPG's....ANACS had me for two submissions, I've decided to stick with PCGS or NGC...please keep in mind that you will need to decide if your coins are valuable enough to warrant submission, often it is cost wise to just buy graded coins that dealers have graded. also make sure you're not sending "details" coins that are better left raw.crazyb0 also gave great advise..hope this helps you!

Sign up for a membership (the 249 which gets the 8 vouchers is the best deal but use the vouchers for classic coins at the regular secure plus level for the best value.

Then fill out the forum and send them in which you can fill out online.

What are your specific questions about the process? Would be a lot easier to help knowing what specific part is getting you

Hmm...what did we do before TPG's? Graded them ourselves. If you are not looking to make a killing on getting a super graded slabbed sticker coin get the books and grade them yourself...that's part of the hobby. If someone doesn't agree with your grade, they don't agree and that's it. Collectors take TPG as the gospel, they have to be right...well you can be right too and grade like a TPG.
