Here's the link to the mint website. Buffalo fractionals are offered in proof as well as UNC which I wasn't expecting.

Having a hard time deciding which one to get?

I won't buy any since it's just overpriced bullion to me, but I'd say the best best would be to buy the ounce since it's the least overpriced.

Yes, that's true. It also mean I have to shell out a lot which I don't have. Initially I was hoping to buy the 1/4oz proof. Or maybe just the UNC.

Hey Shatsi,

How's the baby?

Well, I won't be purchasing any of the fractionals at all. It feels like another marketing gimmick....just my opinion. Also, if I wanted to buy fractionals, I'd stay with the American Eagle Gold Coins.

Another thing is that the Buffalo fractionals will have no set mintage limit. That makes it feel more like bullion to me.

I guess if I just wanted to have a Buffalo fractional just to "have" it, then, I would go ahead and purchase one for the beauty of the coin design....
BUT, I already have 2 of the 2006 Proof Buffalo one ounce gold coins and 2 of the 2006 uncirculated ones as well...... so, I'm sticking with that.

And that's my Two Cents.

Beautiful coin, just a little out of my price range right now with the price of bullion where it is.

Hi Laura,
Baby's fine, thank you. 3 months to go.

I'm surprised not many are interested in the gold buffalo. I agree, the premium is too much but I'm still thinking of getting one.

Maybe I will get the 1/2 ounce. It is overpriced but a nice coin.

I ordered the 1/4oz proof. And might get the 1/4oz UNC down the road if I have the funds. I agree the premium is too much but I like the design.

I buy a one ounce proof each year, but dadgum I paid $899.00 last year for the one ounce proof and though it was allot and this year they were $1,199.95 , if it keeps this trend up I won't be able to afford them much longer
