Just picked this up at a LCS. Has a little gouge in the obverse field. Enough for a details grade? Going to fill a long empty hole in my Dansco.

It looks like it makes f15. Gouge looks small and I think it would straight grade. Can we see your 1885 and 1886?
Rest in Peace

EF30, straight grade. See nothing to det it on? At least has full Liberty, usually some gone at this level. Nice to knock another one off isn't it? I myself just need an 85...

I think it would grade F-12. Are those corrosion spots on the reverse rim at 11:00 and above the left top of the V?

I will give it a nice bath in acetone tonight and see what happens to that 11 o'clock spot. V looks good.

I have the special millionaires edition of the Dansco that incudes the 1913. Going to fill it with a dateless nickel.

@numismatic student, my 1886 is in the mail. Should have it next week. Anxious to see what it looks like in hand, but here is the photo from the dealer. The '85 is gonna take some time.

@Crazyb0, it does feel nice, but I think I need to take a breather for a while.

The 1886 looks like a solid f12, not VF+ as the seller indicates. However, an f12 1886 nickel should be over $300. If you got it for $140, that would be a great bargain. I don't know where this seller gets his grading or prices, but here's to getting the coin in the pics for the advertised price.

I agree that the '86 is a solid f12. Keeping my fingers crossed.
