Several years ago I spotted a Barber dime in a vendors case at the Pecan Park Flea Market for 30 bucks. I wondered why he was asking so much. I just happened to have a Coin Prices mag in the car and looked it up when I got back. I immediately ran back in and bought it. It was a solid AU 1897-O. 30 bucks was a heckuva deal for sure.

I used to get lots of great deals at flea markets around here. However, theft rates increased so much most dealers do not sell at flea markets any more. At one flea market near me there used to be several coin dealers. Now even that flea market is gone. Our biggest outdoor flea market also closed. One that is left around me is really busy but I don't speak the language.

Congratulations!! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Quote:Complete run of 1948 to 1958 with the LMC's up to 65, mostly AU-BU and mostly red Amazing! And I really like the vintage folder. Was that part of the deal?

This one will be hard to beat. --- I bought this cufflink at the Davisville, NH Flea Market last summer. The dealer was asking $1.00 for it. I asked if he had the matching link, he said no, I offered and bought it for $.50, thinking it was an Au-Unc 1909 Lincoln. I put it up for sale on ebay and shortly after, I realized that it was a matte-proof coin. thank goodness the listing expired. The coin Red Book's for $550 (MS-63) but at auction, I think it would sell for $1,200+.
