IMHO, this is the top decimal circulating coin set produced so far by the RAM. It has everything going for it....good theme, excellent presentation, top quality coins, participation by the general public (design of the 20 cent reverses designed by school kids).

yes I was aware lim and I have 2 folders , did you also know that the mintage of complete sets was less than 20000 because of mistakes by australia post staff the shippers were sold to people who did not have folders the unofficial estimate is only around 14000 complete folders and 9000 complete proof sets , so you have a rare bird lim and a great momento of federation which is still under valued

Good one matey....for some unknown reason, I went berserk with the 2001 issues, I bought one of the 20 coin proof sets,2 x uncirculated folders, 1 complete set of the 3 coins proof sets and 1 set of the 3 coins uncirculated folders... and that is not counting complete Mint rolls of the 50,20 and dollar coins....

I am resisting temptation to break open the 50 cents roll to see whether I am lucky enough to find one of the "Roozillas".

The reverse of the 2001 50 cent piece has the Australian cost of arms depicted on it. During the minting process, some of the coins had three small Cuds (?) strucked onto the back of the Kangaroo from the neck down giving the effect of an appearance like dorsal fins. When this was first raised at the Aussie Forum, I think it was "toast" who is a member here as well, suggested we name this coin as "roozilla" ....a combination of two words Roo and Godzilla. This name is now stuck with this variety.

It is also interesting that all these roozilla fifty cent peces has a thicker "fat 5" instead of the normal 5.

I wish I have this coin so that I can post a photo .....
