Hey guys found this 1940 D one cent with what appears to be doubled mintmark. I cannot find anything on 1940 D doubled mintmark. Need help on this one. Also how rare is this doubled mintmark. Thank you.

That's called a repunched mintmark, not a doubled mintmark. This one is 1940-D RPM-002.

Very nice find and congratulations! As to how rare it is, I'm not sure.

I can't give it a rarity scale or anything like that, but I can say it is a tough one. I think I've only ever found two of these and I've been through hundreds of thousands of wheats.

Is it worth to get this one graded?

It's a nice enough coin and probably would go AU, but usually an RPM has to grade MS-64 or better before you have a chance of getting back the money it costs to grade it. As an example, I recently bought an MS-66 1946-S DDO-001 for $13. Just not on the collector's radar so coins like these just go for whatever that coin in that grade is worth with or without an RPM or DDO.
