Dear all,

i just found 1941 weat penny
weigh about 2.88
does it has any attractions/error

i dont want to send for PCGS, although I have a membership.

to CCF, and. Without those we can't make any judgements. Could be a thin planchlet error but again need pics to confirm. Damage and wear can reduce weight. So we awaiit photos.

As already stated if it is worn enough, could account for light weight.

to CCF. Need photos. The mint tolerance for a copper cent is +/- .13 grams. Wear could account for the lightness.

Even if it is a thin planchet error and not environmental damage, it would cost considerably more than the coin is worth to have it slabbed. A thin planchet error that is just .1 grams or so out of spec might be worth a dollar or two. It will cost you probably close to $25 to get it slabbed. More if you don't send it in with a bunch of other coins.

Right, nice pic, just show us the reverse. Wear and mint tolerance should easily account for the weight differential.
