As noted, it arrived today. It is RPM FS-901, and it's a bit darker/duller than in the Heritage pics but the toning certainly adds character, no matter the lighting.

These full-slab shots were taken in my usual spot with my incredibly cheap setup (phone and stand, by a north-facing window):

These close-up shots were taken outside, on my south-facing deck with the same cheap phone and stand:

The close-ups with the brighter, more direct lighting certainly show the extent of the toning and call out some of the dings. In hand, the toning on the reverse (the more attractive side, IMO) is pretty smooth and the shield is very sharp -- I see only one imperfection (just right of center, on the 5th stripe) and that appears to be a raised bit of metal, probably from a side-hit. On the obverse, the toning is more splotchy around the rim and the child, which is okay because it highlights the design elements.

Overall, I'm reasonably pleased with it. I've seen better pieces but not in this price range, and it does fill a long-standing hole in my collection. I might be open to an upgrade later but I have other priorities in the meantime.

Is that really a MS coin? I would not have bought that as a MS coin...I'm seeing wear on the female figure's hat/hair and the eagle's neck feathers. Wow!!

Under the loupe, almost all of the hair and feather lines and there -- could be a combination of weak strike and cheap photography (phone on a stand, shot through the slab, with auto focus and only natural light). The only scuff to the slab is on the obverse to the left of the child's thigh, so it's not that.

I think it's a good purchase. The amount of detail on the reverse eagle and shield makes me think it's graded appropriately. Neat pickup!
