Is this a counterfeit 1914 D Lincoln Cent? My concern is the placement of the D mint mark. All opinions are welcome as I would hate to be duped into buying a counterfeit and am by no means an expert. Thank you for your time.   |

It is fake....RUN FORREST RUN! Look at mint mark position.   Your mintmark is too close to the 9, doesn't match any of the 6 known MM positions.Edited by Crazyb0

Crazy is likely right, but the digit spacing seems right, and I'd like to see a sharp close-up of the MM area for confirmation. to the CCF! Edited by Coinfrog

It's #4 on NGCs list of 50 most counterfeited US coins  , but better pics are needed to really be able to make a judgement. You might want to look at this thread which gives pictures of the SIX known obverse dies. Edited by BadDog

I also noticed the number 9 in the date is closed in, where as the loop doesn't go all the way around on the legit ones.
