My cousin wanted to liquidate a large stash of primarily old coins she'd accumulated over the years and asked me to help her determine what it all might be worth. I'm fairly competent with the 1964 and older stuff, but pretty ignorant of things after that year. Among the older stuff, she also had quite a number of $1 Silver Eagles....almost all of them purchased from Littleton and in little cellophane pouches. I knew ZERO about these. It actually crossed my mind when I first saw them that they might only be worth the silver content....but I now know that is NOT the case. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the direction of some info that might provide realistic values for this series.

Well, that pretty says they were bought at highly inflated prices at the time of purchase.

In general, they are worth more than silver melt, some may be quite a bit more. Post the dates and mintmarks and whether they are BU or Proof for a value.

depends what they are. Some can be very close/worth melt while others can have significant premiums all the way up to huge numismatic premiums. There is no way to say a value without knowing all the specifics
