1838 Half Dime (small stars). AU58 PCGS. It's so small that I have to wear glasses over glasses to get a clear view of it. It still has a little mint luster.   Edited by DoctorBurnzy

I've been wanting a nice overstruck Italy 20 Centesimi, and finally crossed paths with one. It was part of a two-coin lot so I ended up with two nice coins. Thanks guys. I have an 1837 on the way, but I draw the line at the first 2-3 years....just to have small stars, large stars...and no stars examples. @Hondo Boguss - Nice pickup!

Doc if its one thing I love its Seated half dimes. Enjoy yours by all means. A Wonderful coin. Hondo continues to WoW us ! Outstanding addition Hondo. I'm a moron for buying gold oz's high but I read the International room wrong. Unusual for me. But if losing $100 to $150 on gold because of peace then I can live with it. I'm more upset with misreading the military situation then losing on gold. Meanwhile my exhibition is slowly shaping up. Some terrific pre-WW1 currency with more excellent ones to put up. Also coins. I'm eyeing a gold Japanese coin from the Shogun days but I'm shopping for a better price. I',m glad I picked these Amazon rechargeable's for my lighting. My journey thru pre-WW1, thru the bad years of economic ruin, leading up to the defeat of the 3'rd Reich ? A display I always wanted to accomplish. I have to find a lighting solution for the shelves, more shelving elsewhere, more wall displays elsewhere in the office. I figure I'm 70% done. My son loves it and it has become a really kool father/son project. He's helped me a lot with it. I have some terrific Japanese and Itlaian coins as well but now need to build up my U.S.S.R. inclusion since they were allied with Germany until June 1941.  |

Thank you all! DoctorBurnzy, I've always been partial to coins minted in New Orleans. Unfortunately a nice 1838-O Half Dime will probably always be out of my reach. I really need to look for a Dime but have been putting it off. Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
