I just received another upgrade for my silver classic commemorative set, a 1951-S Washington-Carver in NGC MS67. I do like the toning on this one! The gold color on the reverse is fairly uniform in hand.  |

Vatican City 500 Lire 1963: Sede Vacante. Vatican City's coins usually have the effigy of the Pope on their coins. There was no Pope at the time of minting this coin, so the phrase Sede Vacante ("empty seat") is used, and an umbraculum over the coat of arms of the Chamberlain of the Roman Church replaces an effigy.  Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

@ GLB49 I'm really enjoying the Australian silver coins! @Hokiefan_82 Very Nice Commemorative-Glad you went MS67, @Hondo Boguss I like Vatican coins. I know Pope Francis said he didn't want himself on any Vatican coins ahhh less than 10 years ago. Do you happen to know if any other Pope did that as well?
