Wonderful coins fellas. I have a few big silver purchases coming. Here are a few being added to my wall.  Quote:
Italy was formally united declared a Kingdom under King Victor Emmanuel II (Vittorio Emanuele II) of Sardinia in 1861. He decided to continue his title as Victor Emmanuel II instead of Victor Emmanuel I of Italy, thus Italy's first king is titled The Second. The obverse features the head of the king. Two types of 2 Lire were struck for Victor Emmanuel II with the same obverse but different reverses. One type has the Arms of Savoy on the reverse, the other has the denomination and a wreath. Both are dated 1863. The coins were struck to the standards of the Latin Monetary Union, The Latin Monetary Union attempted to unify the currencies of Europe more than a century before the Euro was established. The 2 Lire is 27mm, weighs 10 Grams, is struck in .835 fine silver and contains .2685 troy ounces of silver.

Victor Emmanuel lll was an interesting character who actually held a lot of power thru Italy's involvement in two World Wars. Heres a Russian Czarist silver kopek Ive ordered struck in 1914 just as Russia's involvement in the Great War and prior to the revolution of 1917.

This beautiful, Brilliant Uncirculated Czarist Russian 20 Kopeck coin was struck in 1914, just as World War I was starting. The war was one of the leading causes of the downfall of the Czarist government and the communist takeover of Russia. One side includes the denomination, date and mintmark of the St.Petersburg mint within a wreath. The other side depicts the Czarist Russian Imperial Eagle. Below are the intitials of the mintmaster: Viktor Smirnov.
