This was in a large lot of international coins with no attention drawn to it. My bid was $20 until the last hour or so when someone else noticed it and bid me up to $77. It was on HiBid, and there were several other similar lots - mostly older but not especially rare international coins. If the seller had realized what this coin was they would have auctioned it by itself. Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

That Danzig is sweet I know Danzig coins are sought after but havent dwelled into them
i saw now that its 1872 the 1 öre, and its poptop didnt know that. I bought it for 70 dollars.
Its 2 different kings on the 1872 coins, Carl XV died and was replaced by Oscar II
