This one has been a wait, saw my first gold eagle in 1976 and was awed. Thanks to the generous economic stimulus payment was able to finally acquire one. Not the rarest nor high grade but she's original and still dang good looking after more than a century. Augustis St. Gaudin and Teddy Roosevelt come together and leave us a truly magnificent work of art. Thrilled to have it.

1795 Limae-IJ 2 Reales (Peru)
Engraved with an ornate "A H" and a different style "P"

Collector value? Not much.

Historical value? Lots. The level of detail of the ornate lettering engraved onto the coin is very high. A very early love token, maybe, or someone randomly doodling on a bit of silver? No one will ever know, but it's fun to imagine. A handwriting guru could probably approximate a date for the lettering.
