I received an addition to my proof type set today - a PCGS PR65RB CAC 1868 2 cent piece in an OGH. Color in hand is a bit darker than my pics, but still a decent amount of red left. Mintage shown in the RedBook is 600+, and it mentions that about 65% of graded examples are in RB.

Great looking coin, hokie! I reminds me of a nickel...

In addition to the commemorative coin featuring Carl Maria von Weber I posted yesterday, I also got a East German 10 Mark coin commemorating Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). I already had the West German version which I posted several months ago.

Thanks, NumisEd - the 2 cent and Shield nickel definitely have similar obverses, and also similar uninspired designs, IMHO. Still attractive, though!

I find the various East German and West German / Federal Republic of Germany commemorative issues quite interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Nice additions - but it is strange that they put the date and grade label on the eagle on the back side.
