While I'm sure there is some symbolism there, I've always found it interesting that the Coat of Arms of Australia shows the kangaroo and emu holding up the shield, instead of just standing along side it. I would like to think that it is a delam, but I can see the denticles inside the recessed area, maybe a planchet defect?
