The life of a coin. Have you ever stopped and though about that coin in your pocket. Where it has been or what it has been through? Some coins are destined for life in the gutter they get abused, some so bad that they cannot be easily read. While some are destined for life in the working class. The are warn and posses a nice patina. Over time they wind up in the Low-ball hall of fame. Some are fortunate enough to live in the upper class where they have happy life. Quote: Have you ever thought about the life of a coin Yup, I do, which is why I favor the circulated coin for my collection. They have a life lived. Quote: We used to have a thread called "A Coin's Life". Perhaps it should be resurrected? A classic!

I only collect coins that have actually been used as money, or obviously struck to be used for money. That is the primary purpose of coins.
Even so, condition is still of critical importance, be the coins of ancient, medieval, milled or modern machine struck.
Not really keen on modern mint products.
Have I thought about the life of a coin? Yes, definitely. Especially for coins that may be hundreds of years old.

I always think about a coin's "life" for some reason when I add one to my collection. Morgan dollars that sat in Treasury vaults for decades. Or a worn down 1838-O dime. Wonder how long that lasted in circulation...

Never give that a thought. I never stop to worry about something I have no control over.
