Hello again everyone, I've been building my collection with coins that I like and got a really good deal recently on a near complete set for Ike dollars from 71-76 with all business strikes clad and silver proofs, and as I was admiring them I think I have found my very first doubled die, looking for confirmation, please and thank you very much in advance. Feel free to call me crazy but to me it actually looks tripled, but maybe its lust the light,or does anyone see what I do ?

It looks normal , there maybe some doubling showing due to either minor working hub doubling
Quote:
Die variety specialist/collector/author Brian Allen took on the enormous task of doing the attributions for the $1 doubled dies of all series, including the Ike dollars. Brian noticed similarities among many of the listed obverse doubled dies for the 1971-S Ike dollars and began an intensive study of the Ike dollars for that date. His tireless research showed that many of the 1971-S doubled dies were actually the result of doubled master dies and/or doubled working hubs.

Or perhaps glare and the light reflection.Having said that, congrats on your newly acquired collection, Ikes are gorgeous coins with beautiful design.

Here is a useful link to refer to and compare yours with.
