So I Found a 1981 D Dime and it struck me as odd. I've seen a nickel with this type of coloring and type design before years and years ago on the West Coast. I took some nice photos and would really appreciate some opinions about the coin. Thank you very much!

So it's just a coin that had something melted on it, and cracked the die in the coin. Hmm what could it have been? Well thank you very much!

someone spilled laquer,glue whatever on the coin
no big deal - it happens and its easy for it to happen.

it didnt crack the coin - whatever was spilled on it dried and cracked
