Ok, I'm new to the forum and tried to find any of these posted. I did find a few , but just decided I'd start a new thread.
So I dug this coin a few months ago down here in western NY.
Was so thrilled to see that not only is it a really low mintage coin , but it also has not one , but two errors !!
So.....Just wondering if anyone has any details on what quantities are floating around out there of each particular Error and if we know approx. how many non-error variety coins might be out there?
And if anyone would like to throw me their opinion on the grade on this coin?
I've been debating sending it in for grading but not sure which outfit to send it to.....

Although the photo isn't real clear, I'd say VF-20 and it trends for $2000 Canadian. What do you see as the 2nd error?

A great find!
Unlike the 25cent of the same name the 50cent A/V is not an error but a true variety, the V was repunched with an inverted A, evident by the serifs.

Don't believe the hooey in Charlton's about a special punch with a reinforcing bar. Make your own die, punch it lightly with an A punch to simulate an inadequate blow to an improperly annealed die. The crossbar will appear very shallow and if punched thus into a V, will appear exactly as the OP's coin and those in the catalogue.

When you say "dug", do you mean this is a metal detecting find?
