Unofficial farthing issued mid-19th century by George Carter, advertising one of his London addresses. Carter and his heirs ran a chain of haberdasheries spread across multiple cities from 1851 through 1979. Depicts three boys proving one of his hats was indeed waterproof, as advertised. Wait! Was someone supposed to be actually wearing a hat in this thread?
