I posted this in its own thread, but it just occurred to me that this would also qualify as a "coin with hat":

Here's a US commemorative coin from 1997. It helped mark the 50th anniversary of the integration of Major League Baseball in the United States as a result of Jackie Robinson playing first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers for the first time in an official Major League game on April 15, 1947. Jackie Robinson had played for the Montreal Royals, an International League AAA affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers, in 1946. He was promoted to the Dodgers for Spring Training in 1947 and subsequently made the team.

The scene depicted on the obverse of the 1997 commemorative silver dollar is the famous scene of Jackie stealing home against the New York Yankees in the 8th inning of Game 1 of the 1955 World Series. (Brooklyn lost Game 1 by a score of 6 to 5, but won the series four games to three.) Jackie is seen wearing a hat - a baseball cap - as he steals home.

The coin's reverse presents the Jackie Robinson Foundation's 50th anniversary logo that celebrates Jackie breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball. It also includes mention of Jackie winning the 1947 Rookie of the Year Award and being enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 1962.

The coin's obverse design was created by Al Maletsky (based on actual game photographs); the reverse was designed by T. James Ferrell (based on the Foundation's logo).
