Hello to everyone. I've reached a point that I need to sell that of value as part of a plan to build our final home. I'll still keep my specials but I need to assess and sell the rest. Canadian money is something I didn't look at it in detail even though I have it.

I have a 1954 Canadian $5 bill. It is not a Devil's Face. It's prefix of M/C tells me it is a group 1 replacement note. However, it does Not have an asterisk before the prefix. Does that affect value either positive or negative? I believe someone will know as soon as they see the question. Thank you.

Don't pour the foundation quite yet.
Not a replacement.
Common note.
Value is strictly condition dependent.
Most worn examples will be worth little more than face value.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

As DBM stated, common note with over 130 million printed.
Has to be in UNC condition to have any value and even then
It might be worth $30-$40 Canadian.

Thank you very much. Fear not about the building. This was from my what is this pile. Spend it or sell it. What confused me was the prefix. I'll have better questions about coins coming. They at least have metal scrap value so I'm starting from a better place. But again, thank you. You saved me work and it was fun.
