I just picked this up today. Looks like its been in a 2x2 for a very long time, its quite dusty..but I haven't touched it yet. I'm not sure if I should run it under water or leave it. What grade would you give this coin?

Hmm.... distilled water wouldn't hurt. Make sure it's room temp and your wearing coin gloves. Better pics would be nice but the dust is throwing me off. As of now MS-62 (BN? Can't tell color) Also I circled a part of the reverse I think is a die crack but might be a scratch. Let my know if it's incuse or not. Also let me know how my job blowing that pic up was and if it hurt your eyes.

Edited: with TBOP 100% acetone is also a good alternative

Oh and on the 2x2 that it was in it has abbreviations I am not familiar with yet:

on the top.. 1909 P
on the right hand corner.. C H
underneath the "CH"... UNC
on back left corner.. CRY or CKY
Im assuming the UNC is uncirculated but I dont know what the C H or CRY means
Rest in Peace

The CH is for choice as in choice uncirculated .
CRY or CKY sounds like an inventory designation .

Maybe it's just the pics, but the surfaces do not look natural to me.

it appears the coin was improperly stored and attracted a good amount of rust on the surfaces. MS Details (ED). if I had to give a numeric grade I would be at 62BN. light reflections on the surfaces are washing them out to be certain of everything. if these photos are not a good representation of the coin, take some photos in natural lighting trying to avoid reflective light

Ok, these pictures are much better showing the true color since I was able to take them during the day ( in natural light )
The first two pics are in the sun, the third (darker pic is in the shade) And the last was the 2x2 it came in..you see how nasty it looks in there.
