Can you help identify possible variety Cohen, Breen etc. for this coin? Spiked chin, doubling at date or date over another date, and apparent Cud and/or die crack on reverse? And I think perhaps environmental damage but otherwise a F12, your thoughts?

It is one of the early die stages of 1804 C-6 It is one of the Spiked Chin varieties (That obverse was used for six varieties C-1 and C-3 before the die was injured, and 5. 6. 7. and 8 afterword. C-3 and C-5 are bother the same die pair C-3 before the damage and C-5 after) I don't know the Manley die stage number, the Breen die stage number is Stage III. The 1804 C-6 is widely collected by die stage because it is both a common variety and the reverse die goes though an EXTENSIVE series of breakdown steps. There are over 20 different stages for this variety

If you would like to see a bunch of stages of 04 C-6 try here

http://images.goldbergauctions.com/...ter=2&page=3

Starting at lot 215 there are 14 different die stages.

This is the terminal stage Manley stage 12.0. Breen claims a later stage the die break extending over the F in OF but he doesn't picture it.
