I have been looking for a nice one, for some time... picked this one up recently from Fred Weinberg. Weakly struck, and I like the toning that age has given this coin.

I am surprised at how nicely it fit onto the planchet. Beautiful coin!

I have heard of coins like this before, and I am very curious how this error could have occurred unless someone did it on purpose.

There's many coins strike from planchets intent beside its own denomination, blanks get stuck in the chamber before starting to strike another different coin, dime and cent are pretty close in size, so a few isn't impossible that got through.

BTW. Nice pick up from Fred, SPP-Ottawa.
That one worth a good prize!

My error collection is pretty minor - compared to some I have seen. I only focus on small cents and nickel dollars... so there are no Vicky or Edward errors in my collection.
